Last updated: June 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Scriptor (“Scriptor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

It also explains the choices you have about how we use your information, including how you can access, update, or delete certain information. By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy and our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

We collect information when you provide it to us, when you use the Services, and when other sources provide it to us.

Information you provide

  • Account information: When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, profile photo, and authentication credentials through our identity provider.
  • Workspace information: We collect workspace names, membership details, roles, and settings you configure.
  • Customer Data: We process pages, databases, comments, sharing settings, and other content you create or upload while using the Services.
  • Communications: If you contact us for support, feedback, or other inquiries, we collect the information you choose to provide.
  • Payment information: If you purchase a paid plan, our payment processor collects billing details on our behalf. We receive limited transaction information, such as billing address and payment status, but do not directly store full payment card numbers.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data: We may collect information about how you access and use the Services, including IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, features used, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
  • Log data: Our servers automatically record technical information when you use the Services, such as request metadata and error reports.

Information from other sources

If you sign in through a third-party identity provider, we may receive information from that provider according to your account settings there, such as your name, email address, and profile image. We may also receive information from service providers that help us operate, secure, and improve the Services.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • Create and manage your account and workspaces;
  • Enable collaboration features such as sharing, permissions, and real-time updates;
  • Process transactions and send related communications;
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Services;
  • Send service-related notices, security alerts, and administrative messages;
  • Monitor, detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
  • Analyze usage trends to improve performance, reliability, and user experience;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Where our customer is the data controller of personal data contained in Customer Data, Scriptor acts as a data processor and processes that data on the customer's instructions and on their behalf to provide the Services.

3. Disclosing your information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • With your direction: When you share pages or workspaces with others, invite collaborators, or make content available within your workspace.
  • Service providers: With vendors who help us provide the Services, such as hosting, authentication, analytics, email delivery, and payment processing. These providers are authorized to use information only as needed to perform services for us.
  • Legal and safety: When we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Scriptor, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
  • With your consent: When you ask us to share information or otherwise consent to disclosure.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. International data transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps designed to ensure an appropriate level of protection, such as using standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms where required.

5. Your choices

  • Account information: You can review and update certain account details through your profile settings.
  • Workspace content: You can export, edit, or delete content you have permission to manage within your workspace.
  • Marketing communications: You may opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in those messages. We may still send service-related communications.
  • Cookies: You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, in-product preference controls.

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and the right to data portability.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If you are a workspace member and wish to exercise rights related to content controlled by your organization, you may need to contact your workspace administrator.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When you delete content or a workspace, we delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period, subject to backup retention cycles and legal requirements. After account deletion, we may retain limited information for a period before permanent deletion.

8. Security of your information

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for configuring sharing permissions appropriately within your workspace.

9. Third-party services

The Services may integrate with or link to third-party services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.

10. Children's information

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by applicable law, such as by posting an updated policy and revising the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
